Midwest School Transformation Project
EdVisions is taking the lead in school transformation regionally.
Decades of experience creating charter schools has equipped EdVisions to now support existing schools to transform from an organizationally-driven industrial model to a model that is built as a student centered learning environment.
Empowering the teachers to design and take ownership of the transformation is the anchor to this project. Dreaming, reflecting, imagining a new way of doing school is the beginning. Each school in the project will design by rethinking how to use the resources of space, time, personnel, technology and standards to better meet the needs of their students. Unique plans from all eleven schools will lead to student centered environments of relevant connected learning for all children.
A strong EdVisions coaching team of fifteen are ready to support the teachers in shifting practices, skills, dispositions and mindsets as the school implements their plan to transform. The coaching focus is to build capacity and ownership within the staff and students, so when the three year project is complete the changes made are irreversible and sustainable, as schools continue on the journey toward more student centered learning.
EdVisions is excited to announce our first round of Partner Schools impacting 2,987 students! The EdVisions’ coaching team is ready to empower teachers and students to design and build student centered learning environments. The partner schools vary in size, geography, student demographics, type of community and governance (charter, district, private). Explore the map and take a look!

The primary vehicle for collaborating around the shared endeavor of the Midwest School Transformation project is a coaching team model. For more information on why EdVisions has chosen a coaching model, check out our blog post Coaching for Transformation.
Funded by the Bush Foundation, EdVisions has launched an ambitious and comprehensive effort to support a selected network of schools in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota striving to transform to more student-centered learning. The three-year partnership provides support for planning, implementing and evaluating a transformation toward greater personalization. Eleven public schools have been selected based on their readiness and willingness to implement research-based approaches to transform their practices to more learner-centered pedagogy in the areas of instruction, culture and career readiness.
